Planetrees - Vision
Planetrees Lodge, ideally located near Beechworth is set back from the road nestled in a beautiful rambling garden spread over two hectares. The Lodge, inspired by the character of a 'mountain lodge' is a self-contained luxury retreat including a spectacular eucalypt state forest as a backdrop and a driveway of plane trees inspired the name. Retired architect Genevieve Milham has spent five years restoring the two storey four-bedroom lodge and creating the magnificant garden that it is today.
Planetrees Lodge is about connecting people, family and friends in an environment that is peaceful, creative, relaxing and private. Genevieve invisioned Planetrees Lodge to be a retreat where busy people can escape to and unwind from the everyday stress of life and work. Planetrees is more than an accommodation choice - it has been created to foster your wellbeing through calming and private surrounds, creative and quality decor, landscaped gardens, luxurious facilities and simple natural beauty.
Genevieve has built a space specifically designed to melt city stress away - whether you are sitting in the garden serenaded by tinkling fountains or you are falling asleep in the hammock nestled in amongst the shaded canopies of established tree foliage or you are taking a dip in the beautifully landscaped and unique 16-metre natural swim pond set within a lily covered lake - without doubt you will soon relax, unwind and be at peace.
Attention to detail is paramount - quality bedding, all-cotton linen, large bath towels and cotton dressing gowns feature in the cosy yet spacious lodge. In addition to air-conditioning and heating, there's a wood heater to ward off any chills. MasterChef wannabes will be happy in the fully equipped kitchen accompanied by Genevieve's offerings from her impressive veggie garden.
Kids are also very welcome...The huge weeping mulberry trees are perfect places for games of hide and seek, as well as swings in the peppermint gum. There is also a bocce court for big kids!
As the evening sets in stargazers will enjoy an astronomy fix looking at the dark skies, bright stars and full moons - what a wonderful way to finish the day.
